can create many Halloween cupcakes, simply by using frosting, instead of adding Halloween cupcake toppers. Melted chocolate is a great tool to work with. You can use melted white chocolate or chocolate (try melting chocolate chips) and put them in a decorating
bag. You can create whimsical designs, and you'll find a small spider-web pattern, such as making symmetrical circles with spikes is a great activity the children can do.

To create a spider-web cupcake, just take a cupcake frosted in the color of your choice, use either gel frosting or melted frosting in your tube, and make a series of swirls on the top of your cupcake. You can then use a toothpick to pull out the web spikes.

If you want to create fantastic Halloween cupcakes, check out the various decorating items from Wilton's cake decorating line. You can use various tips to create a plethora of looks. One that is great to use is the Wilton's 233 icing tip.  The tip is for creating “grass”, but it also makes a wonderful tool for creating monster fur. Some great ideas for decorating Halloween monster cupcakes is to add candy eyes that you can purchase online or at your local department store (in the cake decorating section) or your local craft store. Candy such as taffy and tootsie rolls can be molded into little shapes as well. You can use colored tootsie rolls to create “claws” or teeth.

With a little creativity and ingenuity, you'll be amazed at how you can created fantastic Halloween cupcakes.

Simple Cupcakes

There are many things you can do to create Halloween candy that not only has a professional look, but is very simple to make. Once you've baked your cupcakes, you can ice them with your choice for frosting or icing and use a swirl motion. Choose festive colors such as orange frosting or orange buttercream, and then drizzle black chocolate over the top. This is a very simple idea that doesn't require any additional candies or Halloween cupcakes toppers, but gives a very festive look perfect for the holiday season. You could put a piece of chocolate, candy corn, or decorative candy pumpkins on top of the cupcakes if you choose, but it isn't necessary.

Another simple idea that gives a unique look to Halloween cupcakes is to frost the cupcake with a spatula. This gives the frosting a different look than what you have with a high swirl. You can flatten the top of a spatula-frosted cupcake giving it a smoother surface to work with. Try decorating the top of the cupcake with sprinkles or confetti in appropriate Halloween-themed colors. Top with Halloween themed candy or candies for a great look. Just remember that when it comes to decorating Halloween cupcakes, the most important tool at your disposal is your frosting tip. There are many tips to choose from. The Wilton tips are great for icing and decorating and will ensure that your cupcakes look professional and have the finished look you're going for. Popular Wilton tips include 1M, 2A, 2D, 12, and , 125, 366, 233. Wilton has a YouTube channel where they will teach you how to create different tips for different techniques.
